Apple Keynote: Okay iPhone X, We See You

In case you didn’t hear, on September 12, 2017, Apple made some interesting announcements about new products at their Keynote Event in San Francisco.  Since then, people have been talking nonstop about the new releases.  But also on the forefront of discussion has been regarding the prices of the new Apple products– especially with the new iPhones.  The iPhone 8 and X are expected to go for ~$999.  Leaving us feeling like the odds of being able to actually afford one of these are:

But cost aside, Apple continues to give people what they want, even before they know they want it.  The following are a handful of the unveiled features that we were stoked about.

Airpower charging mat.  Why?  Because wires and cords are the worst.  The AirPower wireless charging mat can charge not only iPhones, but the Apple Watch, and AirPods.  And do it fast.

Glass on the back of the iPhone 8.  Ellen Degeneres roasted this idea a little with her segment about the keynote address.  She said, “The glass is not only on the front.  It’s on the back, so now you can break both sides.  It is for those of us who cracked the front and thought, ‘I can do better.’”  But the glass helps with wireless charging and it looks so streamline… so we’re not mad about it.

The new Apple Watch has LTE connectivity so you can stay connected even without your phone nearby.  It also has a W2 chip which will bring the battery life up to 18 hours.

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will incorporate Augmented Reality which allows users to overlay information and graphics on the screen while the camera is engaged.  This can have great repercussions in both personal and professional settings.
